Rosanna Davison loves everything about Christmas – the present buying, the wrapping, decorating the house and buying the Christmas outfits for the kids.
“We have already started decorating the house,” she smiles, revealing that some of the lights are up and the Christmas wreath is hanging on the front door. “We tend to break the decorating into chunks. It takes longer when you have little ones. Sophia’s reaction this year has been amazing. The look on her face when she saw the lights!”
Decorating the Christmas tree always takes Rosanna back to childhood and the little ornaments made and given by her grandparents.
It always fills me with nostalgia, and I love continuing the tradition with my kids. And now Wes and I get to create new traditions with our own family.
Not one for glamorous and coloured themed trees, she prefers a Christmas tree hung with decorations that are personal and a reflection of their family.
One of her favourite Christmas memories dates to when she was just 3 or 4 years old. “Santa brought me a Fisher Price Play Kitchen. I was astonished that he could leave a present in my room and so excited. I played with it for a very long time.”
Rosanna will do most of her Christmas shopping at Carrickmines Park, where she switched on the Christmas lights on November 18th. With free parking, delicious dining options and a fantastic coffee truck with sweet treats, Christmas shopping at Carrickmines Park is stress-free and convenient.
But is she a last-minute shopper or organised with lists? “I am quite organised,” Rosanna admits. “You have to be with little kids. I do most of my shopping in Carrickmines Park. There is a great range of shops and so many offer delivery too, which is great. I recently used IKEA Carrickmines Click & Collect for Sophia’s present for Christmas and Smyths for her birthday.”
Christmas will be extra special this year, with Rosanna looking forward to spending time with family. “My 2 brothers are coming home from London so the plan, hopefully, is to all spend Christmas together with Mum and Dad. It will be busy with the three little ones and I’m really looking forward to us all being back together. For me Christmas is about the simple things, it’s all about quality family time.”
